A school that trains job creators
Kawaala College School is a mixed day and boarding secondary school in Kawaala, Lubaga Division, Kampala. We teach the full O and A Level curriculum, and we teach it alongside a trade. Students sit their national papers at our own UNEB centre.
What sets the school apart is what happens after the bell. A student can leave here holding an A Level certificate and a DIT certificate in tailoring, catering or motor vehicle mechanics. That is the whole point of the place: we are training job creators, not job seekers.

The three domains
The Heart, Head and Hands
At KCS we train all three. It is the school's own way of describing what a complete education looks like, and everything below follows from it.

Facilities
Laboratories
The science laboratory is fully equipped with apparatus and the chemicals to use it, so practicals are done rather than described. Physics, Chemistry and Biology students work at the bench every week, and there is a separate computer laboratory next door.
Library
The library is stocked for both the old and the new curriculum, so no student has to work from borrowed notes. It stays open through the day and into evening prep for the boarding section.
ICT and standby power
ICT is built into the way subjects are taught, not saved up for one lesson a week. A standby generator carries the lessons, the practicals and evening prep straight through every power cut.
